With over 35 years of industry and teaching experience, Angela Powell bring’s a powerful combination of real-world expertise and high-quality education to every programme. Her journey in beauty therapy began in 1991 within some of the UK’s most prestigious health farms, where she worked with high-profile clients and developed exceptional professional standards from the outset.
Angela later built and ran a successful business, gaining invaluable insight into advanced skincare, client relationships, and commercial performance. Angela was also the first to introduce Dermalogica to South Wales before transitioning into education. While completing her PGCE and assessor qualifications, she began lecturing—quickly establishing a reputation for excellence and strong learner outcomes.
Over the past two decades, Angela has held senior roles in further education, including developing and leading a thriving hair and beauty department that grew from a team of two to over 30 staff, achieving outstanding Estyn results. Her academic background includes a BA (Hons) in Education and Training and a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management, alongside extensive experience delivering Level 4 and 5 leadership programmes.
Angela’s philosophy is straightforward: uphold high standards, focus on the finer details, and ensure every learner leaves feeling capable, confident, and ready to succeed.
As the founder of SkinTuition by Angela, an accredited private training provider, Angela deliver’s professional short courses aligned with National Occupational Standards in collaboration with the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. These programmes are created to give you practical skills, independence, and a strong foundation for long-term success. Angela taught Jade at a local FE college, where she began her studies with a Level 1 qualification in Beauty Therapy, before progressing through Levels 2 and 3, and completing Complimentary Therapies.
Some years later, Jade invited Angela as her guest to the Business Life Awards, at the Swansea Marriott Hotel. Nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award, Jade was announced as the winner - a fantastic achievement and an exceptionally proud moment for her former tutor.
